How to send postcards
Sending a postcard is simple when the basics are right. Most problems come from the same few mistakes: weak address data, unclear timing expectations, or choosing a format that does not fit the moment.
If you want to send a postcard properly, start by deciding what the postcard needs to do. A travel greeting, a romantic surprise, a thank-you, or a business follow-up do not all need the same format.
The best sending process is the one that balances cost, speed, reliability, and emotional impact. That is where a modern printed AR postcard can sometimes outperform a standard card without becoming complicated.
The core process stays the same whether you mail from the UK, Switzerland, or somewhere else: choose the right format, write the address cleanly, and leave enough time for delivery. Country-specific postage changes, but the sending logic does not.
The postcard sending process
1. Choose the postcard format
Use a normal postcard for simple low-cost messages, an online service for convenience, or an AR postcard when you want the message to feel much more personal and memorable.
2. Write the address carefully
Use full recipient name, street and number, postal code, city, and country. Most avoidable postcard delays start with incomplete or unclear addressing.
3. Match delivery timing to the occasion
A birthday or holiday card sent too late loses much of its value. Build in enough time for production and postal transit.
4. Keep the message clear
Short handwritten notes work well on classic cards. If the moment needs more emotion or explanation, a printed video postcard can carry much more without losing the physical keepsake.
